Usually they will be far to weak to even move, and they will also have slurred speech, aphasia (which is the inability of their brain to process their thoughts into speech). After a stoke you have about 3 hours to get to the hospital, obviously the sooner the better, but there is a treatment that can be done to stop the brain from becoming further damaged. For the Ischemic stroke, the blood clot they can use whats called a fibryrnolytic or clot buster to allow tohe blood to circulate again, or they will drain the blood from cranium to allow the brain to recirculate again.
