Hey all!!
Well, another mini goal down, one more to to!! Finally made it to 185 – and out of obese land to overweight land!! I must say that it feels great, tho I am tired as all get out. I have started running, weight training and, as a small side job, I am now an unofficial weight and fitness consultant to two ladies. Basically, I help them with their Weight Watchers questions and take them on a power walk daily. So I am getting plenty of exercise, maybe too much.
The upside of it is getting paid (yay) for doing what I love and getting to eat a little more cuz of all the movement. Oh and I am officially a size 12-14 regular, not women’s! I’m getting a little more muscle in the legs and the girls are starting to go down a little. So all in all, things are good.
One thing tho – went out last nite to celebrate with some friends and found out that I cannot party like I used to. I only had three beers (Miller 64 – 1 point!!) , but this morning and even now, I am tired and slightly hung over. I read somewhere that alcohol does have an adverse effect on folks that are easing into physical fitness, but dag it’s not like I had ten shots or anything. If I am going to feel this bad after a beer, I might as well go all out next time and have a couple of margaritas! I did manage to go walking this morning (tried to run, but body wasn’t havin’ it!), and later I am going to take my client, but ladies I am dragging !! Maybe I’ll go to a nice quiet movie tonite!
In other news, we have a new Diva – welcome Linda!! And the Diva’s have lost a total of 94 pounds!
Because Ms. Tracy is computer illiterate, my scans and attempts to do a video are pathetic. But they are coming….t’s will be here next week so get your sizes in – looks like three of us are getting the t’s and hoodies!
Ladies, I hate to cut this short, but my head is buzzing and the sound of my fingers banging on the keys is making me sick…..I’m old, I know…
Til next time….YCDI….get me an aspirin…
As a man who likes to drink (especially some good crafted microbrews) I actually had to get away from beer, it just seems harder on my system for some reason. So I switched to wine which I can’t stand but I heard that its better for athletes. After doing some research there is something in wine called resveratrol which is great for your body. I won’t go into detail here but this is the Wikipedia URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resveratrol. In anycase, I don’t feel off my mark with wine like I do with other alcoholic delights. I have even managed to find a few wines that I like. I do like [Yellow Tail] wine from Australia, especially the Shiraz.
Actually there are very few carbohydrates in wine unless you find one where they specifically add sugar. So a glass or two won’t hurt you to much on your calories. But you should also be aware that your metabolism will not burn off ANYTHING until it has processed the alcohol out of your body. Alcohol can also effect blood sugar levels, which can lead to cheating on a diet. You can read a great article about it at this URL http://www.wineintro.com/basics/health/bloodsugar.html Its very easy to understand the way he explains it.
Anyways Keep at it girls!!!
I gotta get some sleep ; )
Oh and congratulations for on reaching your drivers license weight!!!

Hey Gina!!
Thank you, I am honored, will post asap!! And Mr. Casper, I guess that I am making you write those fitness blogs whether you wanted to or not! LOL!! Thank you for the info, especially the one on Diabetes Control. After having the disease ravage me and my kidney’s for upwards of four years, I finally have my blood sugar under control. Hopefully, I can keep it in check with diet and exercise, the metformin that I was taking was making me sick!!
And yes, I read that wine was better for you, but wine usually leads to me doing kareoke and turning up on someone’s youtube account!!
Thanks to both of you! You made my day!!
Wow, great going! I am shooting for 250 by May 1, my birthday. I am 9 pounds away.
Thank you Fitness! Keep up the good work and baby steps! Whatever loss you have , even if you stay the same, is good and will last!
