Ovarian cancer is the 9th most common cancer in women, not counting non-melonoma skin cancers. Ovarian cancer counts for 3% of all cancer in women and it is estimated that there will be 21,
550 new cases of ovarian cancer this year alone. Mainly affecting older women with two-thirds of those diagnosed over the age of 55, survival rates are best when the cancer is caught in its early stages.
To help continue the fight against ovarian cancer, Kelly Ripa has teemed up with Elctrolux this summer and started the Virtual Lemonade Stand campaign to help raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. You can get cool for a cause this summer by opening a virtual lemonade stand and selling virtual drinks to your family and friends.
For every lemonade stand opened Elctrolux will donate $1 to OCRF to help find a cure for ovarian cancer. Plus with the money raised by selling drinks to your friends and family this summer could raise even more funding for this very important research. All of the money raised by Electrolux this summer will go to directly to OCRF.
The mission of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. In support of this mission, they help patients and their loved ones understand the disease and its treatment as well as provide outreach programs to raise public awareness.
Electrolux has a rich heritage of developing kitchen appliances in Europe, where they have been used throughout homes and restaurants for more than 80 years.
