Man I’ve never tried so hard to give some money away.
Well, money or no I know many of ya’ll lost weight. Some of you didn’t even update your numbers on the 50 Million Pound Challenge site, but sent me e-mails of your progress. I’d still like to see some before and after pictures and here a testimony or two from those who had success with their weight loss efforts.
There are still t-shirts and sweatshirts available. Some of you all sent me your address – most of you all didn’t. I was trying to hold out until I received more addresses, but I will move ahead with the information I have. Send me your addys if you’re interested in a t-shirt and/or sweatshirt. The e-mail remains the same: sweetpotatopie07@gmail.com.
And last week I received a nice comment from a reader that I would like to share with everyone:
My name is Sandra. I weighted in the low 180 for a while. I have
fibroids and high blood pressure. I tried to lose some weight previously but I think my mind was not on the game because I did nothing different and lost no weight.
I signed up to get updates from Sweet Potato Pie because the emails are about African American females which is hard to find. I like the frank talk and the feeling that we are not alone, we are in this together. Sweet Potato Pie urged us to sign up for the 50 million pound challenge so I did. There was also a challenge at work, the 10 lbs boot camp, so I signed up for that also.
I want to have my fibroids removed but was concerned my weight would cause problems. I also have high blood pressure and the pills were driving me insane. Why should I have to take a pill, I asked myself? I felt if I lost some weight I might be able to get off the pills. So these things together were the reason that I thought the time was now. Losing some pounds would be good.
Well I lost 3-4 lbs right away which gave me start (which I needed). I am down to around 169 lbs now. I know that is not much but for me is huge.
I have made a appointment with my doctor to see if my medication can be reduced and an appointment to speak to a specialist about the fibroids as it causes me to look pregnant.
I am on my way.
Thanks for having the site and opening it up to me, a stranger.
Thanks for encouraging me to sign up for the 50 million pound challenge.
Thanks for asking us to keep you up to date.
Thank You
And that’s why I keep this site going. I really beleive black women getting their health in order is the first step in taking control of other aspects of our lives. So Thank You Sandra, yet again fro that great comment and I’m super proud of all of you who joined the Challenge and are continuing with your weight loss goals. Now if one of ya’ll would just post something….
