Well, this is Week 8 of our Second Chance/Do Over Challenge…..how did you guys do? Yuh huh, oh, I see…mmmhmmm…..yeah mee too! Christmas cookies and the fried turkey kicked my ass too and I’m about to ring in the New Year with every chicken wing imaginable plus some eggnog and bubbly…..
I did manage to keep running, so the damage is not as bad as I thought that it would be but…..I am up about twenty pounds…..the pic above is me running on Christmas day as Santa. Got lots of folks honking their horns and smiling and waving……and I also got a few middle fingers from some Scrooges!
Not to fret, not to worry..It ’s never too late to start over. Even tho I have gained, I am still way ahead of where I was last year at this time. So, ladies and gents, January 4, 2010 will be ….yes say it together now….8 WEEKS TO A BETTER BODY CHALLENGE – WE MEAN IT THIS TIME!!! The hams, chitlins, cookies, fudge and food gifts need to be eaten – no thrown away – no eaten, who we trying to fool – by Jan 3rd.
This new 8 weeks is important to me because that is the countdown to my birthday in February. I have managed to eat my way back into a 14, so I would like to get back down to a size 10 by February 21st. I CAN DO IT!!

I've made it!!
Hey all!! And Happy August to ya!!
And a special Hello to my Cousin Trina in Atlanta!! She is starting her fitness quest by treking up Stone Mountain every day!! You Can Do It!! She will also be (ahem) writing in and giving us updates on her progress, won’t you!? Cuz, ladies and gents, this is a forum – we want to hear your stories too! I know y’all are sick of hearing me brag! Ima size tee – enn!! Bwahahaha!
Yep, I didn’t quite believe it, so I went out to my favorite consignment shop, (Designer Consigner, on North University street, for those of us in the Peoria area) and tried on a bunch of 10’s. I walked away with 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, 4 tops (large, not 3x) and a cute pair of shoes – all for $35 bucks!! Skinny and frugal….why aren’t I married??
The outfit pictured above was part of the bounty.
Well, the scale didn’t move much – about .2 down. I have been going out to eat a bit more – gotta have a social and a love life – so I haven’t been tracking or planning as much as I should have been. I am still running, and I found a new way to torture myself train for my upcoming 5k which is in September.
I am now incorporating 30 second windsprints in my morning run. That is where you run or sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds, then slow jog til you catch your breath, then continue on for at least a half hour. I have only been doing this for a week and already my evening runs are becoming easier – no huffing or leg tiredness.
I did manage to do a face plant on the first night of this tho – I was running in the bicycle lane in the street and tripped over a loose piece of tar. Skinned up both of my knees, and elblow and scraped my chin. But never one to be daunted (read: I didn’t have my phone and couldn’t call for help or a ride home) I finished my walk. Que the She-ra music….
I am gonna have to start frequenting the gym more – arms are better but still have to get everything tight and right. Right now those 10’s are fitting with the help of Ms. Diet Trim! Ah well, they fit! Bwhahaha!
Stay tuned this week – we got something special coming up!! And a chance for you to win a great prize!
Til next time!! You can do it!!!

Not the biggest one anymore!

Big Hi to Casper – you will be hearing from him soon! Hope he sends some footage of him kickboxing….
Hello to Tully and Holly, my weight loss blogging sisters.
Shout out to Khadija and all the girls at the spa…Special howdy-do to Thor…..
And a special shout out to my “Cuz’s” the Fields!! Hey all!! Thanks for you comments and support! It was great meeting all of you - looking forward to Atlanta!!
And as always – hey to Ms. Johnson, who is taking a sabbatical – have a good vacation! But don’t stop running!
Well, last week was a whirlwind of excitement. Not only did I have a family reunion to attend, but my bro-bro came in from out of town, aaand I was still painting the house next door to me. I also took some time out to date, and see some good friends.
All of these activites involved – FOOD!! Lots of it!! From the wonderful fried fresh fish that was brought up from Arkansas, to the great mom-pop restaurants to the movie popcorn, and those DAMN NILLA WAFERS – Ms. Tracy had it coming at her from all sides. And, truthfully, I gave in. Life is not all about calorie counting and worrying about how many points are in your burger (20 – Yikes!!)…. Sometimes life is about sitting down, having a beer, some good food and a lot of laughs with people that you love……
Then it is about running your ass off trying to make up for that pound of sweet potato french fries that you just HAD to have….and could you have put any MORE tartar sauce on that fish? Now, my eating didn’t get totally out of control – except for that box of Nilla Wafers. I have no will power with those evil things! I did enjoy, but I enjoyed with limits. And you know what? Those two pieces of fish were just as satisfying as having six, I said no to dessert after the gonzo burger and fries, and one margarita did me just fine . Moderation folks, the spice of life….Eat what you want, just not as much ( or more than you need)….
Yes, my friends, I gave in…..but I didn’t give it up! If I overate, I compensated for it by adding more exercise. Did I mention the fact to you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RUNNING!?! No matter what the scale said – and it was moving up there, about three pounds – I kept up the exercise. If I could, I would sneak in an extra run – yes, I have turned into a running geek!
But it paid off, cuz as of Monday morning, July 20th, I weighed in at 166 point something or other…..91 pounds down! HA HA I AM SHE-RA GODDESS OF ALL I SURVEY!! Getting closer to my goal of 153 and closer to being – dare I say it – “normal” on the BMI chart. Normal and healthy weight – a wildest dream about to come true!
Speaking of wildest dreams (taking a page from Khadija) – I had one come true last weekend. The two pictures above are of me and my two younger brothers. I am the eldest and the only girl – spoiled city, I know. But I have also been the biggest kid in my family for as long as I can remember. The second photo was taken at a family reunion two years ago. The top photo was taken last weekend – I am no longer the biggest one!! Look at them guns! On top of that, my brother Brandon is a Marine – has been for 21 years! His first night home, we went for a 5 mile run and I kept up with him every step of the way!! Both of my bro’s are amazed at how I am changing and are two more of my biggest supporters.
Random thought – I have decided that I will stop complaining about my boobs. I took a good look at myself yesterday and realized that what I have been blessed with (boobs, lips, nice skin, cheekbones) other people pay out of the waz for. I always had an idea of what I would look like once the weight started to come off, but I must say that I am more than surprised and pleased with what I am seeing now. I have no more excuses to hate or doubt myself, so no more – I embrace all of me!
So folks, what more can I tell you to convince you that this is a ride worth taking. Do it for your health, do it to look good, do it to make your family sick, whatever JUST DO IT – CUZ YOU CAN DO IT!!
Til next time – the Ms. Tracy Fashion Show is on the way!

I. Did. It.
Hello All!!
Forgive the very short post tonite – I will post the full story tomorrow…..right now, I am just speechless and words will not form and I cannot process thoughts to type. I am so very , very, very happy at this moment.
Just know that if I can do this, you can do it too. 91 pounds gone….too unreal for me to fathom right now.
Much love
Tracy
