Post run....post shower

Hey All!!

Well knocked another pound out this week!!  But I feel like there should have been more gone…

I am really slowing down, weight loss wise.  I know it is healthy and I really can’t complain since I have had an almost plateau free ride up to now.  And I am getting “runner’s body” quicker than I had imagined – but I wanna get this last few pounds over with!  I am a scale junkie and if those numbers don’t read what I think they should it ruins my whole day!

So, to further motivate me to continue in spite of the slowdown, I called up my good friend Henry and off we went to go – shoe shopping!!  But not just any shoe shopping – the new Nike’s were in and on sale!!

Yes, I know, I just bought a new pair a few months ago – but new shoes are a runners perk!  Here are some more:

1.  Just another reason to spend $150 on a pair of shoes.

2. Now you have a good reason for those varicose veins.

3. Runner’s high – the new multiple orgasm.

4. Cute dayglo running outfits to match shoes..

5. Something or other about health benefits…

So anyhoo, I took Henry because he is a marathon runner.  He can run a 5k (3miles) in less than 20 minutes and has run several full marathons (26-29 miles) in less than four.  Sometimes I will see his picture in the paper as he is running a race.  It always looks like this:

African runner in first place.  Henry.  African runner in third place looking very pissed off because this white guy is beating him…

I figured with all of Henry’s experience, he could help me pick the right shoe so I could get the most out of my run.  So into the shoe department we went, looking at all the new styles, reading all of the info on the shoes.

“Hey”, I said excitedly, “this shoe has those spring thingys on the heel!  I need those right? To make me more…….aerodynamic?”

“Nope”, Henry said,”you need a lightweight shoe that is moisture resistant and comfortable – that’s all..”

“But what about foot pressure points and shock absorbers and the agony of defeat?” I said, clutching my springy heeled shoe..

“Light, waterproof, comfortable…..everything else is just doo-dads that you are paying extra for.”

Soo, I found a “sensible” pair of cool looking shoes that were reasonably priced……and went back later to get the springy heeled ones – they are too cute!!

So now I really don’t have an excuse not to run, because I have 3 pair of running shoes!   I am trying to get past 10 miles a day (five morning, five evening) but the body is not having it!  Monday, I completely shut down.  I ran all weekend, on top of my usual running around, partying, etc.

By Monday afternoon, after trying to deal with an unusual bout of hunger (helloooo peanut butter!!) , my arms, legs and mind just collapsed and said “Screw you, I’m not moving another inch – now give me something bad!”

So, yes, dear friends, Ms. Tracy caved and gave in to a bag of chips, a coffee roll, and mmmmpeanut butter crackers!  Not great, but not too bad either – the scale only moved up a pound.

I haven’t done this in a while, because I have been so focused on running, but this week I am going to try the Cheater’s diet  – that is when I eat what I want within my points, but I go to good places like Long John Silvers, or have French toast and bacon for dinner. Throw in a donut for good measure.  Y’know, good stuff.  I may have to add some weights to counter some of the extra, but I think my body wants a break from all the veggies and rigidness that I have done for the past month.  We will see how this works out on Monday’s weigh in….

A lot of folks that I run into ask me what I eat  – do I eat dinners or have a certain type of food that I can only have.  When do I eat? Can I drink?

Well, it is easy and complicated – I will try to explain.  On Weight Watchers, you can eat whatever you like – just not as much as you like.  WW provides you with two thick books filled with every type of food imaginable – even international fare.  They also give you a restaurant guide with your fave places to eat and even a beverage guide.

According to your personal info, you are given so many points a day to eat.  Basically, they have done all the calorie counting for you.  When you have eaten all your points, you are done for the day.  This does two things – it forces you to make smarter choices OR it forces you to exercise so you will get more to eat.  Right now I get about 21 points a day but if I run my 10 miles that adds about 18-20 more points on top of that..so I have a lot of leeway.

But if I go to the nearest burger joint, my choices could range from 8 to 20 points per item – so again, I must choose wisely. If I want some onion rings, I need to choose a small burger.  If I want a small dessert, I may have to forgo the side . If I want a quad-burger, I basically have to run to Paris, France and back to make up for it.

So, really I just take a little more time to make sure that I am making better choices.  And normally, I don’t eat out everyday – just once or twice a week for a treat.  Learn to cook , folks. It’s cheaper, you get more food and it is better for you!

Here is a recipe that I made up this week – I ran low on points, and since veggies are free, I made a filling sandwich !

BBQ VEGGIE WRAP

3 portabello mushrooms – chopped

1/2 red onion – chopped

1 clove garlic – crushed

1/2 green, yellow or red pepper – chopped

2 tblsp bbq sauce

2 tsp apple cider vinegar

1tblsp Splenda

2 tblsp water

1 tsp olive oil

1 oz lowfat cheese

1 low fat – high fiber wrap (I recommend Flat-outs)

butter flavored spray

Coat pan with butter flavored spray  – heat with 1tsp oil.  Add mushrooms, peppers, onions and garlic and stir fry until veggies are tender.

Combine bbq sauce, vinegar, Splenda and water and mix well. Mix into veggies and cook for 2-3 minutes for flavor to seep in.

Sprinkle cheese on wrap and spoon veggie mixture onto wrap. Roll, cut, and enjoy.

Points – 5

Hope you enjoy it!!  It is alot for one serving,  but I am a big eater.  For some of you, this may serve two.

Til next time, haven’t forgotten about the wigs, just need to find a new photog!!

You Can Do It!

I. Did. It.

I. Did. It.

Hello All!!

Forgive the very short post tonite – I will post the full story tomorrow…..right now, I am just speechless and words will not form and  I cannot process thoughts to type.  I am so very , very, very happy at this moment.

Just know that if I can  do this, you can do it too.  91 pounds gone….too unreal for me to fathom right now.

Much love

Tracy

Here is the proof!!

Here is the proof!!

Hey All!!!

Okay! Well it seems that my body put its rally cap on in the last few days.  From last Monday to this Monday, according to both my scale and the scale at Weight Watchers I have lost over 4 pounds!  And I am a little over a pound and a half to my next Heaven 167!!

That will put me at a total loss of  90 pounds!!!  For those of you who may just be tuning in let me break this down for you…and to myself, cuz I can’t believe it either:  10 months ago, in September of 08, I was carrying 90 extra pounds on my body, weighing in at 257.  I have gone from a size 26-28 to a qualified size 12,  size 10 with help (girdle, I ain’t shamed!).  Except in dresses that zip up the side or the  back, I am a size 14 to 16 in those (thanks titties…..) .  According to my doctor, who is still a jerk (but his jerkiness saved my life, so I ain’t complaining), my diabetes, while not gone, is manageable without medication.  My blood pressure is normal, cholesterol levels a-ok, thyroid and kidney functions are great.

One drawback tho…..while I am totally loving and getting used to the new me…..I am starting to look like a bobblehead!  Maybe because I haven’t had a neck or a chin in so long…..

I am loving the collarbone and those little bones that stick out on my shoulders.  Can anyone out there tell me what is up with BW not liking these?  I think that the collarbone is sexxy – especially accented with some oil and a nice necklace.  But in the past week, I have read or someone has told me about “collarbones that could hold soup” are somehow bad.  I would love to hear the story behind that one….

The energy thing……it is getting me into some trouble!  I still love it, but I now have a tendency to overload myself.  I got talked into painting a neighbors garage last week, and while I love the arm muscles that developed, I am sore and tired as all get out today.  Last Sunday comprised of this:  Take Mom to church, go for 4 mi. run, mow lawn, pick up mom, eat, clean house, paint garage,  eat, go for 4 mi evening run.

At 11 pm I was still wired.  I am just starting to feel the effects today  and I am trying to rest, but like any junkie, I do miss the high…

Which concerns me…I can now understand how folks go overboard with dieting and exercise.  I only have about 14 more pounds to go til I make my goal of 153.  And it has been and incredible ride for sure, but what happens then?  Will I miss the rush of my scale fix? Or the science of what I can eat versus how many miles I run?  Will I be satisfied with 153 and the size that I am, or will I set a new lower goal?

A friend of mine  – who has also played and won this weight loss game – told me that this is common with folks that lose a significant amount of weight.  We just replace one addiction (food) with another.  Some folks misplace their energy (sex, gambling) and end up spiraling back to the safer form (food).  After much thought, I decided that I would replace my negatives with …..running!   As in races and dare I say it – marathons.

Right now, I am semi training for a 3 mile run/walk in August.  I would like to run/jog the whole thing.  Then there is a 5k Run/Walk in September that I have signed up for.  I am doing all of the geeky running things like getting custom shoes, interval training, buying Gore-Tex “breathable” running gear, and insisting on running in all kinds of weather.  This morning I know I dodged about two lighting bolts, all in the name of  obsession!!

Folks, it sounds like a nightmare, but I am having the time of my life!!   I also stepped out and am doing something career wise that I never had the courage to try – will give you the details on that later.

Over at Khadija’s site, www.muslimbushido.blogspot.com, there are a series of interesting posts about letting it all go and being the best that you can be.  All that I can add to this is that you owe it to yourself to at least put a toe in the water of self preservation and improvement.  You can achieve your “Wildest Dreams” and more – just take that one step.  You might fall – I did, several times – but keep getting back up.  The walk is so worth it..

Til next time…..check out the 4th of July outfit!!

Whoo! Halter top!!

Hey All!!

Really short post as I am planning my menu and activities for the 4th.   Weighed in on Monday at 173 – six more pounds til 167 – Seven Heaven.  Scale is moving slowly, but the body has done a major dump – 2 inches off of the waist, one off of the bust and 1 1/2 off of the hips.  And my arms!!  I will be wearing a halter top for the first time since what, grade school?!?  Unbelievable!  and Wonderful at the same time!!

Divas!!!  The contest is over and I won – but I didn’t win!  I cannot claim the prize cuz I am a regular contributor, plus  I started this way early in the game so it wouldn’t be fair!

So, ANYONE that posts, the money is up for grabs!  MsDubb, all you have to do is hit the publish button – the cash is yours!!  Free money y’all!  LOL!!

But seriously, have you guys checked out the 50 Million site?  Our standing is about in the middle and we lost about 112 pounds so far.  So, if you have more to lose, keep plugging along and updating!  I am going to enter my story to see if I can be Challenger of the week – I’m a famewhore, I know!!  ;)

You all have a great holiday!!  Don’t over indulge, keep exercising, and please don’t light a sparkler in between your butt cheeks……

Hey All!!sexy-underwear

Weighed in Tuesday at 175.  Been noticing that my loss has slowed down a bit even tho I have added more running and some weights…….Dang last 20 lbs are gonna kill me!

And that is not the half of it! My goal is 153 which puts me in the “healthy, normal” category on the BMI chart.  But I think that 20 or so more pounds would put me at a size 10-12 and I kinda wanted to be a size 8…..which would be around 140.  I don’t know it that is do-able or even maintainable; I’ve seen many get there but not stay there.   So , we will see what we look like at 160 and go from there…..

Well, I did something tonite that I haven’t done in quite awhile – go underwear shopping!  For some cute stuff, not the industrial size bras that I have since thrown away!  Since January of this year, my main underwear staple has been a bodyshaper/girdle called a  Diet-trim.

It is a one piece with the bra built in and is comfortable and offers the best support that money can buy.  You can get them at Sears for around 30 bucks – believe me they are worth it! The Diet-trim also lets you drop 4-5 sizes and will still conform to and hold you in – I am just now shopping for some new ones in a smaller size.  I have about four of them.  They are great to run in too – no flopping boobies!

See, Ms. Tracy has no problems with support underwear, and I wish that a lot of other folks would take up the cause.  I for one am so tired of bellies, asses and love handles hanging out of ill fitting tops and low rise jeans.   And this is on Grown Folks that Should Know Better!!  I like tight dresses and jeans and tops that hug the curves, but you can’t just throw that stuff on!  Like a well built house, you have to have a strong foundation underneath…..oooh I like that one….

So anyhoo,  the girdle has been ok for the last few months, but now that I have some male company, well….lets just say that an extra tight lycra one piece isn’t the most …..accessible thing one could wear.   And I have been curious as to how the new bod really looks after almost 85 pounds gone.   So, off I went  to my favorite lingerie outlet (Walmart) to  look for some sessy stuff!

I am still at the point in my transition where I have to try everything on.  My bottom half is a true size 12, but the top half of me is built like a linebacker so depending on who makes it I can be anywhere from a 12 to a 16.  But, this is underwear and nighties so I go a little smaller with my choices.  I am looking for support and if it is a little tight it is ok.

The first thing I found was a cute black camisole – nice, stretchy and shiny black! I remember the girls and how they refuse to go away (I’m still a 44 D) and get a 2x.  Then I found some matching “control”  high cut panties – got them in a medium.  Headed over to the bras and found a cute gray jersey padded bra and some ‘boy-cut’ panties  in regular size large – not just my size large! Yes!  Found a sessy black bra to go with my corset (yes, I wear corsets too!  They can take you down a good size or two) and a to die for low cut pajama set! I’m done, time to check out!

I get home, adjust the wig, put on some lip gloss and get to trying on my new stuff! “Tracy”, you ask “really now, does it take all that to try on some underwear?”.  And I say yes it do, take the time ladies, get gussied up and dare to be sexy.  Hell, I’ve been running for the past three months now, I better think I’m all that!  ‘Sides, I wanna get the total picture of what someone else is gonna see – and make the necessary adjustments!

First the camisole and the panties!   Yes!  The cami fits like a dream and the medium panties give me curves where they should be!  Damn, I’m fine!  I should have got the 1x tho, but this looks good!

Ok next the bras and boy panties.   Hmmmm…..a little boobie adjusting and the bras look great but I am not feeling the boy panties….too much hanging out of the sides and you cannot hike them up.  I think you have to have a boy body to look good in these.  Tried the black bra with my corset and some thigh highs – wooooo!  Is that me?  My poor boyfriend is gonna have a stroke….

Allright on to the pj’s!  Really cute, clingy material….a little adjusting, gotta tie up the straps, maybe put the control panties under to tame the belly bulge and…..Voila!  They look fantastic!  And these are a size  12-14!!   I will never eat chocolate again….tonite anyways…

So, I end this entry on cloud nine again….got some cute stuff that looked cute on me! This is the first time in years that I could buy off of the rack and have everyting  fit (‘cept the boy panties, they suck) and I am over the moon.  About underwear.  What lies ahead…can’t wait!

You Can Do It!!

Hi Guys!!

Quick post – gotta go out for my evening run….I can freaking run I don’t believe it!!  And there is no Ice Cream truck to catch!!

As of yesterday, I made it to the first of the Seven’s – 177!!   Proof below – urm, right after I took this shot, I got a serious pedicure….

177

So, like all good Americans, that day I bbq’d and ate like a pig!  I am trying out the back fat exercise portion , so that nite I went for my  5 MILE RUN!!  To those of you who know me personally, or are related to me, or have seen me casually on the street and are SICK TO DEATH  of hearing me brag being able to run….screw you!  And I say that with love in my heart!  Which is now running a lot better SINCE I CAN RUN – 5MILES IN THE MORNING AND 5 MILES AT NITE….BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

yay

Ahem…where was I….oh yeah, eat like a pig, run, haha…anyhoo, I had to officially weigh in this morning at WW since they were closed yesterday, and I weighed in at – 176.2!! That is a total loss of 81.2 pounds!!  Woo hoo – I so freaking rock!!! Yay for me!! I can do it!! Well folks, if you don’t cheer for yourself, no one else will!!  Until you make them!!  Ya hear that facebook friends!?!  YAY FOR TRACY!!

Ok, I’m back!  So the next mini goal is…167!!  I cannot believe that I am only 23 lbs to reaching my goal!!

Another tip – but this is for the “I have no lifer’s” like me…..If you run, you can eat more….and if you eat too much or go over your points – run again.  Just make sure that you have eaten the bulk of your food before 7 or 7:30 pm.  I tried this last week and lost four pounds !!  Keep up your water and if you eat after your run, make it light, like popcorn or nuts or fruit.  Do not starve yourself, if you are hungry eat!   I am trying it again this week to see if I can outsmart mother nature, which is due anytime now!!

Last entry, getting late!  For those of you that have stuck by SPP for awhile – Do you remember the dress?  Well let me refresh your memory with an update!
